SOME DETERGENTS – Moderne Problem 7” (1982)

Here’s a rather rare 7” obscurity out of the United Kingdom. Minimal electronic arrangements with a mid tempo subdued vocal treatment is what one finds on this indie vinyl. The band consisted of a duo – Russell and Shaw - there is no further information given on the jacket….I found this to be quite a pleasant surprise given the relaxed atmospheric characteristics that it exudes..It will grow on you after repeated listening…A very private and out of print pressing via Clean Records, UK.

  1. It's listed as 1982 in "music maker" & on "out of town" records which could make the band from the Cheshire area.

  2. They were a group of Students studying in Liverpool In the early 80,s . They rehersed at Vulcan Studios . And played at the Left Bistro ,
now known as the John Lennon Mermorial Center in Liverpool.
I once offered them a Charity Gig for School kids in Tuebrook .But would only play for Musician Union rates. As nobody else was getting paid , we turned them down. Just to say as Julian Cope and Teardrop Explodes plus the Faction and a number of other bands turned up on the night. We did not use them. I am sure they all in nice safe White Collar jobs with a Morgage and at least one divorce.
