BROUHAHA – Silent Weekend LP (1984)

Brouhaha is quite the indie obscurity find. An alternative new wave oriented band that I have no information on. After an extensive search via the web of course, I was rewarded with zilch. Maybe someone out there can fill in the gaping hole and information will materialize. Anyway, this was a pleasant surprise minutes upon flipping it up on the turntable. They play an upbeat to mid-tempo, melancholic alternative new wave vibe with engaging guitars. Sounds like a successful collegiate band in their time. Enough so to warrant an independent record deal via SWM Records.

  1. I thank you for all of the cool stuff you post but, one channel is over modulated in all of your postings. Are you intentionally doing this so people will have no choice but to buy the record?

  2. No, that's a silly thing to say. I've said that I have some limitations in the recording that I'm trying to fix, but for now, that's the best I can do. some come out better that others. thanks.

  3. I chime in anonymous. to me over modulation is intentional. Cause with the same turntable and ripping unit, you can't get different results.

  5. I am sorry I forgot to thank you for the obsure stuff you post. My comment was just to show my frustration with over modulation on many posts, cause for people like me who don't own a turntable, blogs like yours are the only hopes to get such gems. Again thanks for the great posts.
