Here’s a self produced new wave synth record with virtually no info to be found. If someone knows something, please contact. This Canadian band consisted of five members who were from Windsor, Ontario. Faded Films successfully fuse their post punk roots with a new romantic style to create this haunting four song extended player. Their synthesizers are matched with a rush of acoustic and electric guitars, which results in an atmospheric infectious gem. A very rare and obscure vinyl that doesn’t seem to pop up often. Out of print private pressing via Faded Films.

Faded Films were Canadians (from Windsor). I'm not aware of anything else by them except this 7'EP, but at least two of them continued making music.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Manury, is a well-known figure in Windsor music scene. He had been in a million bands : he was drummer & vocalist in Ten Indians, Two For The Cascade, itzjunk, Magic Hall of Mirrors, The Scarecrows. These days he continues as george m and I think he had an EP out. Anyway, here http://soundcloud.com/george-m-2 you can find plenty of his music.
Andrew Barlow was the guitarist for the Doomsday Dogs and now he cooperates with Tony Gray in film scores and commercial soundtracks.
The rest of the band were Dale Wiotte, Mike Willson and Joel Phelps.
Note: On the band photos at the back cover there is someone who looks like Joel R.L. Phelps (of Silkworm etc), but he's not the same person.
P.S. Although this is definitely a very obscure item, oddly enough it has been already blogged twice! Most recent was in Out of the …Igloo! blog (http://outoftheigloo.blogspot.com/2011/06/faded-films-faded-years-1986-self.html) which correctly stated Windsor as their hometown.
