ONE + ONE – Self Titled EP (1982)
Here’s a record I’ve had for years and decided to give it a spin again. The band was a duo out of New York City that cranked out wicked DIY minimal synth sounds and beats…The record starts off with a re-worked minimal synth inspired cover of the classic Chambers Brothers single “Time Has Come Today”. Not a bad electronic version of the 1966 classic. The standout track is the memorable “Remote Control” with its sharp synth lines playing a prominent role throughout the entire song. ONE PLUS ONE is a tasty homegrown electronic obscurity that will find a way to burrow into your head. Recommended. …Out of print private pressing via Aarson Records...
