HIS MASTER’S VOICE – Missionary EP (1984)
Missionary is by no means a rare record, but there is an obscure nature about it. I found this for a few dollars at a local record store and was pleasantly surprised when the vinyl started to spin. Tribal rhythms with trance like echoing female vocals work their groovy magic on the appealing lead off “Desire”….Then there is the charged up darkwave melodies of “Kazan”. On Side Two, the EP takes an alternative approach with “Island Of Red Light”, but maintains good synth work. “Genre #2” continues with doses of crunchy guitars and an above par female vocal delivery, which is almost gothic sounding. Raid the spare change container and pick this modestly priced obscurity up. Recommended. …Out of print via Passport Records…
